Thursday 16th July 1914 Hannover
Worked with Mathilda. Went to the baths. Afternoon played tennis. Evening, dined at the Bristol, went with Annie to the Cinematograph, P.de.D., M.R., Englische Buffet and American Bar. She is very nice and we all pity her. Wonder what dear C— is doing. I will not write to her.
Friday 17th July 1914
Mother wants me to go to Heiligendamm and take Guy. Guy would love to come but doesn’t know if he can manage it. Told mother by telephone that I would not come.
Saturday 18th
11:0 a.m. Mother rings up from Berlin. Says C. wants me to come. I would not miss a chance like that so agreed. Left Hannover by 12:10. Kissed
