May 25th Sunday Berlin
Came up to Berlin to see Kathleen and my American cousin Charlotte. They had arrived on the 23rd from America. Kathleen is just the same as ever. I am charmed with my American cousin. Family told me to kiss her—but quite impossible—was too shy.
Margaret is such a dear was so pleased to see her and mother again. Kathleen is or rather says she is engaged to an American cavalry officer, Terry Allen—I wish her luck. Charlotte has a sweetheart Jack—I am so upset—but she is twenty-one so I mustn’t worry.
Went out with Charlotte and Kathleen to the “Tauentzien Palast” café. Walked home and lost our way. Kathleen wanted some Bier—had to fetch it—it is disgusting to see women drinking Bier or smoking.
C gave me a comb to look after—but I kept it. Will I ever be forgiven?
