Bio:
Emily Bruusgaard is a doctoral candidate in English at Queen’s University who maintains a twin interest in British and Canadian women’s literature from the 1920s and 30s and textile history. Her dissertation, tentatively titled “Covert Threads: The Subversive Language of Textile, from Jane Austen to Margaret Atwood,” examines the changing relationships between textile making, women’s writing, and oral narrative from 1810 to 1990.
